A month after the horrific massacre at the Jefferson Tops in Buffalo, N.Y., I pitched and produced a series of portraits while attending a Tops healing event for The New York Times. I sat with some of the associates that had survived the shooting and asked them two questions - “How are you feeling?” and “How are you healing?” They shared their responses with me in the form of hand-written journal entries.
